Owls Hold Second Place In Team Standings Heading Into Final Day

At Rice
2011- 2012: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Rice University Honor Athlete; Defended her C-USA individual championship in the 400-yard individual medley with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:18.67, becoming the first Owl to win back-to-back league titles since All-American Mandy Mularz claimed the WAC championship in the 50-freestyle in 2002 and 2003... Led a 1-2 Rice finish in the 400-IM with Shelby Bottoms for the league's fastest times of the year... Reached the championship finals of two other C-USA events and notched a pair of fifth place finishes in the 200-IM and the mile... Swam a career-best 2:03.83 in the 200-IM... Posted a season-best 16:49.01 in the mile as the Owls claimed three of the top five spots in the event... Scored a total of 48 points at the C-USA meet, the sixth-highest total on the team... Best mark in the 1,000-freestyle was from the intermediate split of the C-USA mile (10:13.15).

2010-2011: Shared Rice's Rookie of the Year award (with Michelle Gean) as the program's top freshman; C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll; Won the C-USA individual championship in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:16.13 that broke the oldest Rice record in the books (16 years)... Finished second in the mile at conference with a career-best time of 16:45.58, the fifth-fastest mark in school history... Fastest mile by an Owl freshman in five years... Placed tenth in the league in the 500-freestyle with a career-best 4:58.63... Scored a total of 44 points for the Owls at the C-USA meet, the sixth-highest total on the team... Posted the Owls' best 1,000-free of the season (10:11.34) at the intermediate mark during the C-USA mile.

A 2010 graduate of Granite Bay High School in California... Two-time High School All-America in the 500-freestyle and in the 200-individual medley...
