In its annual wrap-up of the 2015 women’s Division I season, ranked Hughes 60th on its list of the nation’s Top 100 college players. The publication also ranked the Top 20 players in each conference, and Hughes was rated first overall on its Conference USA listing. Owls Jasmine Isokpunwu and Holly Hargreaves joined Hughes with a ranking of 12th and 19th, respectively, on the C-USA list.

Hughes led Conference USA and was among the NCAA leaders in assists (10). The senior forward from Ottawa, Ontario, scored ten goals on a team-best 84 shots, and also among the national leaders in game-winning goals (5).

Isokpunwu came back from being sidelined for all of 2014 to anchor the Rice defense last season. The standout from Austin, Texas, started every game on the backline and rarely came off the field. She helped the Rice defensive crew allow just 10.6 shots per C-USA game as the squad recorded five shutouts.

Hargreaves closed-out her sensational career as the program’s second all-time leading scorer with 32 goals and 73 points. In 2014 the forward from New Hope, Pa., set the Rice school record with four goals scored in a single game.

The Owl honorees trained under the direction of head coach Nicky Adams. In five full seasons at the helm of the program, Adams has developed at least one Owl to C-USA postseason honors every year.
