The Dominator, Mia Hamm & Pele? Yes, Yes & Yes!

Oct. 13, 2006

Name: Kristina Hoban (link to official Rice bio)

The nickname my teammates call me: "Hoban, The dominator, Mia Hamm, Pele

College: Hanszen

My favorite soccer player: My sister, Katie (aka, the best midfielder at University of San Francisco)

My favorite movie: Little Miss Sunshine

My favorite web site: foxnews.com/billoreilly

My favorite CD or music artist: "Christmas Mix 05/06" (just some sweet xmas tunes that I compiled into a cd) also, Ace of Base. I eagerly await their return after their 15 year hiatus.

My pet peeve is: Anyone who thinks that two-way stops are in fact four-way stops, and then proceed to stop where there is fact no stop sign. That really gets to me. Also, people who use made up words like "guestimate" and "irregardless" (which is not a word). Also, people who use rolley backpacks. there is never a need for that... never.

My favorite snack: Funfetti cake with white icing. That's a snack right?

My favorite meal at the Rice servery: I'm going to opt out of this question due to the painful memories that it brings back to my ulcer

My favorite class at Rice: LPAP tennis. I'm really good, which I'm sure is no big surprise to anyone that knows me.

I chose to attend Rice because: I was going through a phase where I was really into food. It seemed like the obvious choice (haven't really grown out of that phase yet)

What I like most about college life at Rice: the people

One athlete (non soccer player) I would like to meet: Shakira, because her hips don't lie.

One person (non athlete) I would like to meet: Dr. McDreamy, wait did the question say meet or marry? Well either way, I choose him

My favorite moment of my soccer career so far: Beating Clory Martin at a gruesome game of full-field, one-on-one soccer. In the end, my superb fitness is really what won it for me.

The person who got me interested in soccer: Chris Huston

The best soccer advice I ever had: "Hoban, have your gloves with you at ALL times." -ZOZ

The Rice team I like to watch play their sport: volleyball

The most embarrassing moment or thing that ever happened to me: This year, our team was at the airport and I decided to race those lazy people who use the moving walkways. Well, I was running really really fast and I tripped over my pants and fell in the middle of the airport and screamed really loudly.

My teammates think I am: Unconditionally kind, accepting of everyone, and introverted

Coach Huston thinks I am: a jokester

My favorite coach Huston expression is: "Hoban, you are exempt from fitness today because last time you lapped everyone like four times. We need to give the other players a chance to improve on their speed without feeling bad about how fast you are."

Other than myself, the Rice soccer player to keep an eye on this season: Stephanie Crain - she has some shifty moves

The Rice soccer player with the best or most interesting non-soccer talent: Traci Fraser is really good at incorporating the word "zoz" into almost any word. IE: "ZOZsome" or "exZOZted"

One thing I'd like to say, but you didn't ask: It took me about a month to realize that there is a left and a right shin guard. To think, all that time I thought they were uni-shin.
