The Rice soccer team officially opens the season on the road at Texas Tech on Friday, Aug. 19.
The Owls have had some rugged preseason practices so far, but those workouts are no comparison to the hard-hitting "Just For Kicks" hotseat! Rookie keeper Amy Czyz is the latest Owl to accept the season-long Q & A challenge.
Full name: Amy Marie Czyz
The nickname my teammates call me: I don't have one that I'm aware of yet...

My favorite meal at the Rice servery: the grilled cheese is BOMB
My favorite class at Rice: I currently haven't taken any, sooo unknown
I chose to attend Rice because: There's no school with a more intimidating mascot. I guess the whole soccer program and top ranked academics played a part somewhere in there as well...
What I like most about college life at Rice: There's always delicious food already cooked for me
My pet peeve: I have a million, but of course I can't think of a good one now
One athlete (non soccer player) I would like to meet: Any athlete who would then take me to meet Hope Solo...
One person (non athlete) I would like to meet: Oprah, she's the man
On Twitter, I follow: I can't say I have a twitter, but that could change in the near future
When I last looked, I had this many friends on Facebook: I don't think I've ever looked...
My favorite moment of my soccer career so far: Winning NCS my senior year of high school

The best soccer advice I ever had: "Be better tomorrow than you were today."
My favorite sport besides soccer: football
The Rice team I'd like to watch play their sport: volleyball, even though some of the girls scare me because they're significantly taller than I will ever be.
The most embarrassing moment or thing that ever happened to me: For my own safety I'm going to kindly skip this question...
I describe myself as: I'd like to say normal but I don't know if that's entirely true
My teammates think I am: I have absolutely no idea so far
My favorite expression Coach Nicky uses: "I LOVE SOCCER!!!!"
Other than myself, the Rice Owl to keep an eye on this season: Ben...he pours a mean cup of Gatorade
The Rice soccer player with the best non-soccer talent: Hayley can almost fit all 6 feet of herself in one of our lockers. True skill
