It is with great pride the Rice Owls Soccer tradition of Just For Kicks has reported to preseason camp in peak physical and mental condition, and is ready for the upcoming 2012 college soccer season! This year's edition of the soccer program's Q&A feature returns many of the same rugged questions with some challenging new inquiries. Let the games of the 2012 Just For Kicks season begin!
First-up to field questions in the Kicks hot seat is the sure-handed goalkeeper Amy Czyz. The sophomore stopper from Danville, Calif., is back in goal for the Owls after a sensational rookie campaign a year ago. Cyzy (pronounced sizz, as in "scissors") was named one of the Top 100 Freshmen in the nation last season, and the No. 10 freshman goalkeeper overall. With the second-highest total of minutes played in a single season in Rice soccer history (1,964), she registered a solid 0.73 goals-against average and a steady .795 save percentage.
It's Czyz vs. Just For Kicks! This is a tremendous 1-v-1 matchup to start the year!
