HOUSTON -- The Rice soccer team will host a season-opening exhibition against Navarro College at 7 pm at the Rice Soccer Stadium on Friday (Aug. 14). The exhibition is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.

Overall Rice has 18 letterwinners, including nine experienced starters, returning from last year's squad that posted the program's sixth-straight winning season. The Owls officially open the 2009 campaign with a home match on Aug. 21 against longtime rival Baylor. Start time is set for 7 pm.
