Rice Continues C-USA Action Next Week at Southern Miss

HOUSTON - The Rice soccer team was defeated by visiting Tulsa in a Conference USA match 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Holloway Field in Houston.
The Owls collected a total of ten shots, including five on-goal. Credit Tulsa goalkeeper Hayley Harryman with five saves. The Golden Hurricane scored the lone goal of the contest in the 38th minute. Annette Sohmer played a pass to Alexa Sidorakis just outside the keeper's box, who converted on a shot attempt for her first goal of the season.
Rice fell to 4-5-2 overall and 2-2-0 in C-USA league play. Tulsa improved to9-3-1 on the season and 3-0-1 in conference.
The Owls have concluded the two-game weekend homestand. Rice next returns to action with a C-USA road game at Southern Miss on Oct. 12 (Sat.). Start time against the Golden Eagles is set for 1 pm in Hattiesburg, Miss.
