SAN MARCOS, Tex. - In a contest delayed by harsh weather conditions for more than 90 minutes, 90 minutes of playing time and two overtime periods were not enough to break a 0-0 deadlock between the Rice and Texas State soccer teams Sunday afternoon in San Marcos, Texas.

Rice collected 19 shots, including nine on-goal, for the match. The Owls' best opportunity to get on the board was in the second half as Gabriela Iribarne knocked a hard shot that bounced off the crossbar. Owl goalkeeper Amy Czyz finished with five saves.

Rice is now 1-2-2 on the season. Texas State is 2-3-1 overall.

The Owls have completed a pair of back-to-back road swings. The Blue & Gray return home to host longtime state rival Lamar on Friday (Sept. 13) at 7 pm.
