Coach Adams said -- "Gen is a blue-collar player who can contribute at couple of positions. She can play at center back or as a holding midfielder. She is very good at connecting passes and has great range on her serves. Not only is Gen very intelligent with an ability to read pressure well, she is good in the air and sharp on passing angles."
Herndon Firecats Coach Nadir Moumen said -- "Gen is the dream player both on and off the field. I have never seen a more focused and harder working girl both in games and in preparation for games. She always sacrifices for the good of the team. Gen's skill, leadership, and tenacity helped our team win two Virginia State Cup Championships and a 2nd place national ranking. After she finishes her great soccer playing days and hangs up her boots, I believe she will be a phenomenal coach."
Gen Grundy said -- "I chose Rice because the second I stepped onto the beautiful campus I couldn't picture myself going anywhere else. Rice immediately felt like home. The outstanding academics, great soccer, and the amazing coaching staff really convinced me that Rice is, without a doubt, the place I want to be."
