Iribarne & Hargreaves Help Lift Rice In League-Opener

Rice - Well-rounded attacking player who does a superb job of not only creating scoring opportunities for her teammates, but sets herself up to be in dangerous positions at all times... Ability to read the game is truly one of her best qualities.

2012: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Named the team's Most Improved Player and was also the recipient of the Who's Hoo Award as the Owl who sparks the team or makes the most immediate impact when entering the game off the bench... Played in 16 games with five starts in the second half of the season... Missed five early Rice games while playing internationally (see below)... Came off the bench to score goals against C-USA foes Marshall and nationally-ranked Memphis in a nationally-televised game... Finished with a total of 29 shots in 706 minutes... Attempted a career-high six shots against league rival UTEP, and recorded an assist on Lauren Hughes' game-winning goal against the Miners... Maintained a .379 shots-on-goal percentage... Played 88 minutes against East Carolina.

International -- Played for Argentina in the 2012 Under-20 Women's World Cup before the start of the college season... Helped her squad (nicknamed "Las Albicelestes") qualify for the U20 World Cup after a dramatic three weeks of qualifying games played among South American countries in the early spring... Scored the game-tying goal in the 73rd minute against Paraguay that forced a 2-2 deadlock and helped Argentina secure a top spot in the pool play format... Played well in the convincing 3-1 upset over a favored Columbia team in the semifinal round to advance to the one-game championship against mighty Brazil... Was invited to Argentina's Womens' National Team training camp in the summer of 2010... Served as a U17 National Team Pool Player in 2009 and 2010.

2011: Continued to improve over the course of her inaugural season... Played in 18 of the team's 21 games... Worked a total of 460 minutes... Scored first collegiate goal against C-USA foe UAB... Tallied two assists, both of which proved to be on a game-winning goal... Assisted on Quinney Truong's goal in the 84th minute at SMU, and on Lauren Busansky's game-winner in the 77th minute against Southern Miss via a corner kick... Finished with 20 shots... Took a season-high four shots twice, against McNeese State and Southern Miss... Hit the crossbar on her very first college shot attempt in a match at Texas Tech... Maintained a .450 shots-on-goal percentage... Played a career-long 60 minutes on the road at SMU.

High School - A 2011 graduate of Laguna Hills High School in Laguna Hills, Calif.... First team All-CIF Southern section and all-league honoree... Named the Hawks' MVP and served as team captain for head coach Vishtasp Farhadi... Midfielder of the year as sophomore in 2009 and Varsity Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2008... Helped lead LHHS to a league championship in 2008 and to the CIF quarterfinals three times (2008-2010)... Also competed in track & field and cross country.

Club - Ten-year veteran, international club midfielder, including the last five years for West Coast Futbol Club (WCFC), premier level of the Coast Soccer League and ECNL League... Ranked as the Top 100 players in the United States (No. 69) by TopDrawerSoccer.com, and as the No. 15 player in Southern California... 2009 Cal South ODP...Adidas ESP09 All Star player ... WCFC U19 team captain... Coached by Braeden Cloutier... Was invited to Argentina's Womens' National Team training camp in the summer of 2010. Served as a U17Agentina National Team Pool Player in 2009 and is currently a U20 pool player.

Personal - Full name: Gabriela Renee Iribarne. Born: March 24, 1993, in Orange, Calif. Parents: Enrique and Tonya Iribarne of Mission Viejo, Calif. (one brother, one sister). Co-chairs a charity with her sister, Nicolette, called Futbol 4 Dreams where soccer balls, cleats, uniforms, and other soccer equipment is collected and sent to underprivileged children around the world.
