2013: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Played in 17 of the team's 18 games, each time as the starting keeper... Played every minute of all but three games, 92.6 percent of the team's total time... Finished third on the team in total minutes (1,559)... Tied a career-best 11 saves in the 0-0 final at future C-USA foe Western Kentucky... Eleven saves is tied for the fourth-highest single-game total in school history (a total she posted twice in 2012)... Finished sixth among the C-USA leaders in saves (79) and saves per game (4.7)... Also had nine saves against league foe Old Dominion... Maintained a .775 save percentage... Registered five complete game shutouts - Western Kentucky, North Texas, East Carolina, Texas State and Louisiana Tech.
2012: C-USA Academic Honor Roll; C-USA Defender of the Week (Aug. 27); Earned all-league honors by the soccer web site CollegeSportsMadness... Ranked 51st in the nation in goalkeeper minutes (1,878:59), and played all but 71 minutes of the Owls' total time... Subbed-out of games after the Owls built comfortable leads against Marshall, Sam Houston State and McNeese State (by a combined 8-1 margin)... Win total (11) was the most by an Owl keeper in six years... Posted 86 saves on the season, the highest mark by an Owl in four years... Recorded a career-best 11 saves twice, with both totals (vs. national powers Oklahoma State and LSU) tying for the fourth-highest single-game save total in school history... Maintained an .804 save percentage and a 1.01 goals-against average.
2011: A Top 100 Freshman, and the No. 10 Freshman Goalkeeper according to TopDrawerSoccer.com... All-Conference USA (third team); C-USA All-Freshman Team; C-USA Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 3); Rice Soccer Rookie of the Year; C-USA Academic Honor Roll; Stepped right in for an excellent debut season of Division I soccer... One of just five Owls, and the only freshman, to start all 21 games... Finished third on the team with 1,964 minutes, the second-most by a keeper in school history (dating back to 2004)... Played in 97.7 percent of the team's total time... Notched seven complete game shutouts between the pipes to tie for the third-highest single-season total in school history... Maintained an 0.73 goals-against average that is the third-best single season mark by an Owl keeper... Registered 62 saves with a steady .795 save-percentage... Tallied a career-high six saves on the road at Marshall... Made four or more saves in a game seven times... Credited with 10 wins to tie for the fifth-best total by a keeper in school history.
High School - A 2011 graduate of Carondelet High School in Concord, Calif.... Three-time all-league honoree (2009-2011) and four-year varsity letterwinner under head coach Rick Morin... Posted a 0.585 GAA and 255 saves for the Cougars... Helped Carondelet win 2010 & 2011 East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) Championships, 2011 CIF North Coast Section (NCS) Championship, and earn an ESPN RISE FAB 50 ranking (#12)... Named ESPN RISE "National Player of the Week" (Dec. 2010)... Outstanding student who earned NCS/CIF Scholar Athlete honors and "High Honors" Honor Roll in 2008-2011.

Played more than 20,000 minutes in goal in a nine-year club career, recording 182 shutouts in over 300 starts with 0.485 goals-against average... Helped lead the club to three state championships, the 2006 USYSA Region IV semifinals and 2006 #1 ranking by NationalSoccerRanking... Red Bull National League and Elite Clubs National league (ECNL) participant... Named as ECNL 2010 "All Event Team Goalkeeper."
Personal - Full name: Amy Marie Czyz. Born: October 5, 1992 in Truckee, Calif. Daughter of Tom Czyz and Lisa Deal, step-father is John Deal. Athletic family includes: Tom Czyz playing baseball at Cal Poly and her brother, Mike Czyz, currently playing football at Northern Arizona; Grandfather, Tom Czyz Sr., was a three-sport letterman at Western Michigan; An uncle, Rob Lambert, played baseball at Cal Poly and in the New York Yankees organization; A cousin, Steve Lesser, played soccer at Cornell. Chose to attend Rice over Michigan, San Diego and Cornell. Volunteers community service time with the Animal Rescue Foundation in Contra Costa County.
