Owls Face Longhorns In Non-Conference Finale
The Rice Owls women's basketball team closes out their non-conference schedule with a visit to Austin, Texas to face the third-ranked and undefeated Texas Longhorns Tuesday evening at the Frank Erwin Center. Rice is still searching for their first road victory of the season (0-3) and their first victory over a Top-25 team since Dec. 1, 2006 when they defeated No. 10 Texas A&M (79-66). Rice will be playing their second Top-25 team this year, having lost to then No. 5 Texas A&M back on Nov. 19. Texas leads the all-time series over the Owls, 32-1, and this will mark the first meeting between the old SWC members since the Longhorns defeated Rice 89-75 back on Feb. 7, 1996.

Last Time Out
The Rice Owls women's basketball team avenged a loss earlier in the week at Texas Southern with perhaps their most complete game of the season Sunday afternoon, scoring a season-high in points en route to a 97-63 win over the Lamar Lady Cardinals. Rice had four players score in double-figures, led by 17 points from senior post Christal Porter. The 97 points by the Owls tied for the fifth-most in a single game in school history and were the most since they scored 97 at Texas State on Dec. 30, 2010.

Texas Scouting Report
The Longhorns, one of just five remaining undefeated teams in the nation, will be playing their first game in eight days after last defeating Texas A&M, 67-65, back on Dec.21 in Little Rock. Texas averages nearly 76 points per game while limiting their opponents to just 54 points a contest. Three Longhorns average double-digits in points, led by Nneka Enemkpali (13.5) and Kelsey Lang (13.5).
