HOUSTON – Rice redshirt junior Nicole Iademarco was recognized for her stellar play last week by College Sports Madness, earning both the High-Major Player of the Week, as well as the Conference USA Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Iademarco helped lead the Owls (9-2) to a pair of road victories last week, averaging 23.5 points in 34.0 minutes per contest. The Woodlands, Texas native made 9-of-23 three-point attempts (39.1 percent) while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor overall.
Iademarco scored a team-high 21 points in a win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and followed up that performance with a team-best 26 points in a victory at Prairie View A&M. She currently ranks sixth in the league in scoring (16.2 ppg) and sixth in C-USA in three-point field goals made per game (2.6).
The Owls will return to action this Saturday, Dec. 30 when they host Columbia at 2 p.m. from Tudor Fieldhouse.
