The Rice women's basketball team begins its first of four straight road games with a contest at SFA (8-2) on Tuesday night (Dec. 20) at 7 p.m. The Owls then travel to UTSA (Dec. 30), Lamar (Jan. 2), and at UAB (Jan. 5).

Rice Head Coach Greg Williams
Greg Williams (Rice, 1970) is now in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater. Williams has a 94-105 record at Rice and an 18-year career mark of 295-244.

Series History
Rice is 3-1 vs. SFA after winning 59-54 last season in Houston. D'Frantz Smart led Rice with 12 points and Megan Elliott had 10 rebounds for the Owls.

After a 13-day break, Rice defeated Texas State 73-66 and witness the return of its leading scorer and rebounder, Jessica Kuster. Kuster had missed the two games in the Gene Hackerman Invitational with an injured foot.

Kuster averages 19.9 ppg and 12.8 rpg, to lead Rice. Senior Brianna Hypolite is averaging 11.4 ppg and freshman Christal Porter is at 6.3 rpg. Senior guard D'Frantz Smart has 474 career assists and needs two more to surpass Kim Lawson's (1999-2003) total of 475 to hold the school record.
