Owls travel to No. 5 Texas A&M
A pair of old Southwest Conference rivals meet again for the 41st time in the series when Rice travels to College Station to face the No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies (3-0). The Aggies lead the all-time series, 30-10, and have won three straight in the series dating back to 2006-07. A&M is 16-3 all-time against Rice in College Station. The game will be televised on the SEC Network+, which is available thru WatchESPN.

Goodwine/Rainey Lead Owls in Opener
The Owls got a combined 43 points from Jasmine Goodwine and Shani Rainey to help lead Rice to a 70-58 victory over Prairie View A&M in the season opener. The dual 20-point performances matched all of last year's Rice totals. Both Maya Hawkins (20 points) and Jessica Kuster (26 points) accomplished the feat in an overtime victory over Marshall on Jan. 18.

Texas A&M Scouting Report
The Aggies have begun the year 3-0 after winning the All-Maggie Dixon Classic in Chicago over the weekend. This game will mark the home opener for A&M in which they are 36-4 all-time. Texas A&M has qualified for nine straight NCAA Tournament and poses a starting lineup that contains three Preseason All-Americans in Jordan Jones, Courtney Williams and Courtney Walker.

Owls History vs. Top-25
Rice will be looking for their first win vs. a Top-25 team since Jan. 1, 2006 when, ironically, they knocked off then No. 10 Texas A&M (79-66) at Rice. Since then the Owls have lost 15 consecutive showdowns against Top-25 teams and are 9-86 all-time against the nation's best.

A Texas Themed Schedule
Texas A&M is one of eight non-conference Texas schools the Owls will face this season. In total, the Owls will play 13 of their 28 scheduled games against Texas schools and 23 games played in the state of Texas overall.

Looks Who's Back
Rice returns four starters and 12-of-13 letter-winners from last season's team. Senior post Christal Porter returns as the team's leading scorer (7.7 points) and rebounder (6.9 boards).
