Rice Head Coach Greg Williams
Greg Williams (Rice, 1970) is now in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater. Williams has an 89-101 record at Rice and an 18-year career mark of 290-240.

Series History
Rice is 1-0 in the series vs. HBU after winning 82-46 last season in Sharp Gym on the HBU campus. Jessica Kuster led the Owls with 16 points in the contest. This will be the first ever meetings for Rice against Chicago State and Valparaiso.

Rice is the No. 2 pre-season pick in the Conference USA Poll with four returning starters from last season's 18-14 squad that was 10-6 in C-USA (third).The Owls earned their sixth berth in the WNIT and third under head coach Greg Williams. Rice lost a tough road game at Prairie View A&M by a 61-58 count. Fantastic freshman Jessica Kuster is now a super sophomore as she scored a game-high 22 points and astonishingly grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds. The Owls also took one on the chin at Oklahoma State losing 96-60. Jessica Goswitz, with 3 three-pointers led the Owls with 9 points.
