Hoops Coaches Head to Conference USA Media Day

Conference USA's 2013 Basketball Media Day is set for Tuesday in Irving, Texas. The league's head coaches from the men's and women's programs at the 16 member schools will be on hand to preview the upcoming season.

C-USA followers may also enjoy coverage of the event through a free, live video stream of interviews with coaches. Coaches from Charlotte, East Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, LA Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee and North Texas will do interviews in four segments beginning at 10 a.m. EDT/9 a.m. CDT. Coaches from Old Dominion, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB, UTEP and UTSA will begin their live stream at 1:30 p.m. EDT/12:20 p.m. CDT.

Rice head men's basketball coach Ben Braun will discuss his team with host Ron Thulin in the block scheduled from 12:30 to 12:50 p.m. CT.

Last week, sophomore guard Max Guercy was named to the Conference USA Preseason Player Watch List. The point guard started all 31 games as a rookie and was named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.

Head women's basketball coach Greg Williams is slated to appear right after, in the block from 12:50 to 1:15 p.m. CT.

On Monday morning, senior Jessica Kuster earned preseason all-conference honors. In the coaches' poll released at the same time, Williams' squad was voted 10th.

The 2013-14 C-USA Basketball season tips off Friday, November 8 and culminates with a five-day, 29-game tournament March 11-15 in El Paso, Texas, at UTEP.
