The Rice Owls women's basketball team plays at UTEP on Sunday (Feb. 26). Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. (CT) inside the Haskins Center. The Owls then wrap up regular-season action on Thursday (March 1) when they host Memphis at 7 p.m.

Rice is now a two-game winning streak after winning 68-40 over Houston on Thursday. Jessica Kuster had 22 points and 16 rebounds, both of which were game-highs for the Owls. Tulane and Rice are tied for fourth in the Conference USA standings.
Rice's Jessica Kuster is one of only two C-USA players averaging a double-double at 16.8 ppg and 11.2 rpg (eighth in the nation). Senior Brianna Hypolite follows in scoring at 10.4 ppg.
The Owls are 8-1 when they hold their opponents to under 35 percent shooting from the field.
The Owls have held their opponents to under 50 points in five games this season and are 4-1 in those contests. The 40 points by Houston on Feb. 23 are the lowest this season by a Rice opponent.
Rice is 14-7 when it commits fewer turnovers than its opponents.
Rice's four seniors have played in over 100 games in their collegiate careers. Brianna Hypolite and D'Frantz Smart have played in 115 games, while Candace Ashford and Amenemope McKinney have each competed in 102 games.
Rice Head Coach Greg Williams
Greg Williams (Rice, 1970) is now in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater. Williams has a 103-113 record at Rice and an 18-year career mark of 304-252.
In a low-scoring affair, UTEP escaped with a 45-41 win at Rice on Feb. 5. Jessica Kuster scored 11 points, while Brianna Hypolite added 10 points to lead the Owls.
Rice now leads the series 23-12. Last season, UTEP won 79-57 in El Paso and the Owls captured the contest in Houston, 76-69.

The Miners are undefeated in C-USA action at 14-0 and are led in scoring by reserve center Gloria Brown. Brown averages 11.4 points per game and is also the squad's leading rebounder (8.7 rebounds per contest). Kayla Thornton is second on the team in scoring at 9.7 ppg.
