The Rice women's basketball team concludes a two-game road trip on Sunday (Feb. 19) when it competes at SMU. Game time is slated for 12:05 p.m. and will be televised by FSN.

Rice suffered a tough overtime loss at Tulane on Thursday by a 50-47 count. Candace Ashford registered her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. D'Frantrz Smart also scored 11 points for the the Owls.
Rice's four seniors have played in over 100 games in their collegiate careers. Brianna Hypolite and D'Frantz Smart have played in 113 games, while Candace Ashford and Amenemope McKinney have each competed in 100 games.
Rice scored the final eight points of the contest to defeat SMU 56-54 on Jan. 8 in the the first meeting of the season in Houston. Jessica Kuster posted her eighth double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while D'Frantz Smart added 15 points.
SMU now leads the series 34 to 32. The Owls, however, have captured the last three games vs. the Mustangs.

SMU suffered its fourth consecutive loss, a 50-46 setback at UAB on Thursday. Alisha Fillmore and Akil Simpson lead the Mustangs in scoring at 11.0 points per game. Simpson also averages 7.0 rebounds per outing. Brittney Hard is the team's top rebounder at 7.5 rpg. The Mustangs are averaging 59.8 points per game and their opponents are at 58.8.
