The Rice Owls women's basketball team, currently on a three-game winning streak, plays at Marshall (12-8, 3-4) on Thursday, Feb. 2 in Huntington, W.Va. Game time is at 6 p.m. (CT) inside the Cam Henderson Center.

Rice then hosts Conference USA-leading UTEP (19-2, 8-0) on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. inside Tudor Fieldhouse. This game will be televised live by FSN and shown on FS Southwest and FS South.

Rice has won its last three games and is one win shy of tying the longest winning streak of the season (Nov. 16-Nov. 23). Also, head coach Greg Williams captured his 100th win at Rice by defeating Houston (Jan. 28). He won career victory 300 in the win over ECU (Jan. 26).

Sophomore Jessica Kuster is the only C-USA player averaging a double-double at 17.3 ppg and 11.3 rpg. Her rebounding average ranks FIFTH in the nation. Senior Brianna Hypolite is second in scoreing at 11.3 ppg and freshman Christal Porter is third (5.6 rpg). Senior D'Frantz Smart has 520 career assists and is Rice's all-time assist leader, moving pass Kim Lawson's (1999-2003) total of 475 to hold the school record.

Greg Williams (Rice, 1970) is now in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater. Williams has a 100-109 record at Rice and an 18-year career mark of 301-248.

Vs. Marshall
Rice leads the series vs. Marshall 4-1 after winning last season 52-39 in Houston. Brianna Hypolite led the Owls in scoring with 15 points, while Jessica Kuster pulled down eight rebounds.

Marshall does not have a player averaging in double-digits, but is balanced in scoring. Jasmine Shaw and Lateidra Elliott each average 7.3 points a contest. Erica Woods is third at 6.8 ppg, while Alyse Poindexter is at 5.5 ppg. Woods is the squad's top rebounder, averaging 6.1 rebounds a game. After a five-game winning streak, Marshall is now in the midst of a five-game losing streak.
