The Rice women's basketball team plays at UCF on Thursday (Jan. 19) at 6 p.m. (CT). This will be the Owls fifth Conference USA game of the season and third on the road. Rice then hosts Southern Miss on Sunday (Jan. 22) at 2 p.m.

Rice Head Coach Greg Williams
Greg Williams (Rice, 1970) is now in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater. Williams has a 97-109 record at Rice and an 18-year career mark of 298-248.

Quick Look at the Owls
Rice did not fare well at Tulsa on Sunday, losing 69-42. The Owls only made 24.6 percent (14-57) of their shots.

Sophomore Jessica Kuster is the only C-USA player averaging a double-double at 16.9 ppg and 11.8 rpg. Senior Brianna Hypolite is averaging 12.3 ppg and freshman Christal Porter is at 5.8 rpg. Senior guard D'Frantz Smart has 501 career assists and is Rice's all-time assist leader, moving pass Kim Lawson's (1999-2003) total of 475 to hold the school record.

Vs. UCF
The Knights lead the series with Rice 4-3. UCF won in Houston last season 81-68. Morgan Mayse led the Owls with 16 points.

Quick Look at UCF
UCF has won both of its home C-USA games (ECU-59-53; Southern Miss-65-47) and has lost both of its away C-USA games (at Tulane-64-52; at UAB-61-54). Aisha Patrick leads the Knights in scoring at 15.5 points per game and she is second in rebounding as well (8.5 rpg). Gevenia Carter follows Patrick in scoring at 10.8 ppg, while Erika Jones (9.9 rpg) leads UCF in rebounding.
