The Rice women's basketball team plays at Tulsa on Sunday (Jan. 15) at 2 p.m. The Owls will be gunning for their third-straight Conference USA victory.

Rice improved its C-USA record to 2-1 with convincing 67-49 win over Tulane on Thursday as Brianna Hypolite scored a game-high 25 points.
Sophomore Jessica Kuster is the only C-USA player averaging a double-double at 17.6 ppg and 11.9 rpg. Senior Brianna Hypolite is averaging 12.6 ppg and freshman Christal Porter is at 5.7 rpg. Senior guard D'Frantz Smart has 499 career assists and is Rice's all-time assist leader, moving pass Kim Lawson's (1999-2003) total of 475 to hold the school record.
Rice leads the series vs. TU 22-10 after winning both games last season. The Owls won in Tulsa 61-53 as Jessica Kuster scored 17 points and in Houston 70-47. Jessica Goswitz led Rice with 19 points.

Tulsa lost on Thursday at UTEP 67-56 and is now 1-2 in Conference USA. The Golden Hurricane have two players averaging double-digits in scoring. Taleya Mayberry leads at 15.1 ppg and Taylor Hooker follows at 11.0. Tiffani Couisnard is Tulsa's top rebounder at 8.1 rpg. Mayberry also leads TU with 44 assists.
