Owls Take on Panthers in Miami
The Rice Owls will carry a C-USA best eight-game winning streak to Miami on Saturday when they face the FIU Panthers on CUSAtv. Rice is coming off a 67-53 victory over Florida Atlantic on Thursday. FIU has lost eight of their last 10 contests entering Saturday, including a 101-47 setback at WKU on Thursday. The all-time series between Rice and FIU is tied, 4-4.

Last Time Out
A 29-11 advantage in the third quarter helped propel the Owls to an eighth-straight win Thursday evening in a 67-53 on the road victory at Florida Atlantic. Redshirt sophomore Erica Ogwumike led all players with 26 points, 17 of which came in the third quarter. The Cypress, Texas native eclipsed 20 points for a team-leading seventh time this season by making 10-of-17 shots from the field (3-of-6 on three-pointers) in 31 minutes of action. Senior guard Wendy Knight added an additional 13 points for the Owls, marking the eighth time in her last nine games to score 10 or more points.

Best Start Since...
Rice’s 13-2 start to the season is their best record through 15 games since the 1981-82 (Division II) campaign when the Owls started 13-2. The Owls 10 non-conference victories were also the most since moving to Division I.

Piling Up the Wins
The Owls eight-game win streak is the fifth-longest in school history and currently the seventh-longest in the nation. Rice can tie the 1981-82/2005-06 squads for the third-longest win streaks with a ninth straight win on Saturday. The longest win streak in program is 12, accomplished by the 2003-04/2004-05 teams.

Owning the Arc
The Owls lead all of C-USA in three-point field goals made per game (8.8-28th in NCAA) and are first in the league in total three-pointers made (132-43rd in NCAA). Iademarco is seventh in C-USA in three-point makes per game (2.53) and seventh in three-point field goal percentage (36.5) and made at least one three-pointer in each of the Owls first 14 games. On the flip side, the Owls have the best three-point field goal defense in C-USA (25.8 percent) and rank 11th in the nation.

Keep ‘Em Below 70
With their 67-53 win over FAU, the Owls improved to 12-0 this season when they allow their opponents to score 70 points or less. The Owls rank third in C-USA in scoring defense, surrendering just 57.0 points per game. Rice has held eight straight opponents to under 70 points.

FIU Scouting Report
Kiandre’a Pound (14.3 ppg) leads the way offensively for the Panthers and ranks fourth in the league in rebounds per game (9.5). Kristian Hudson is fourth in the league in total assists. As a unit, the Panthers are fifth in the league in rebounds per game (39.69).
