Final Non-Conference Game
The Owls will be looking to make it two straight in the win column Friday evening when they host newly instated Southland Conference member Incarnate Word at Tudor Fieldhouse in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Briefly On The Owls
Rice notched their second true road victory of the season, and their first since the season opener, with a 67-64 win at Lamar last Sunday. Senior Jessica Kuster notched her 50th career double-double with 21 points and 18 rebounds and freshman Jasmine Goodwine chipped in a career-high 13 points off the bench.

Friday’s game will mark the first-ever meeting between Rice and Incarnate Word.
Kuster On The Cusp Of History
Jessica Kuster enters play Friday with 1,699 career points and can move up two spots on Friday to 3rd all-time with 13 more points. The San Antonio, Texas native needs just four points to tie Marla Brumfield (4th-1,703 points, 1997-2000) and 12 points to tie Lauren Neaves (3rd-1,711 points, 2003-07).
Owls Bench Dominating
For a sixth consecutive game the Rice bench outscored their opponents following a 22-13 edge against Lamar. Jasmine Goodwine scored a career-high 13 points off the pine against Lamar and is averaging 7.3 ppg in her last six contests. The Owls have outscored their foes 156-83 during that six game span.
C-USA Play On The Horizon
Following Friday's game the Owls will say goodbye to non-conference play and hello to Conference USA action. The Owls will kickoff their league journey next week for a pair of games in the Sunshine State. Rice will first take on FIU on Jan. 8 before taking on Florida Atlantic on Jan. 11. Rice's first conference home tilt will be Jan. 15 against Louisiana Tech.
