LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Despite a strong start to the game, Rice's women's basketball team fell 76-48 to two-time defending Sun Belt Tournament Champions UALR at the Jack Stephens Center on Saturday.

Rice (2-3) and UALR (3-1) traded leads, with the Owls going up by as many as three, until the 5:23 mark of the first half, when the Trojans embarked on a 12-1 run to take a 31-22 halftime lead.

The Owls received an early advantage in the second half, as the Trojans committed seven team fouls in the first 4:40 of the second half, but the Owls were not able to overcome the deficit.
