HOUSTON - Rice is set to compete in the 2013 C-USA Men's Cross Country Championships at the Eagle Point Cross Country Course on the campus of University of North Texas Saturday, Nov. 2, in Denton.

The men's 8K race begins at 9 a.m. with an awards ceremony following the championships at 11 a.m. Admission is free.

Rice, who is ranked No. 6 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region Top 15, will be one of 13 teams competing on Saturday. Tulsa, ranked No. 11 in the nation, will go in as one of the favorites along with UTEP (No. 12 in USTFCCCA Mountain region), North Texas (No. 8 in USTFCCCA South Central), Louisiana Tech (No. 15 in USTFCCCA South Central) and Middle Tennessee (No. 15 in USTFCCCA South).

Last season the Owls finished third in the C-USA meet, but are looking to improve on that mark. It marked the seventh time in eight C-USA seasons that the Owls have finished in the top three.

Earlier this season the Owls won the Rice Invitational on Sept. 13, beating the likes of Texas A&M, Houston and TCU. Rice also placed second at the Rim Rock Run in Lawrence, Kansas, placing three runners (Harry Sagel, Will Firth and John Cavallo) in the top 10.
