SUGAR LAND, Texas - While a majority of the men's cross country squad will be competing at Saturday's Pre-Nationals in Louisville, a handful of Owls ran at the HBU Invitational Friday evening in Sugar Land.
The Owls top five runners on Friday combined to finish fourth overall (88 points) out of six teams competing. Junior Connor Meaux was the Owls' top finisher, placing 11th overall with a time of 27:30. Finishing behind Meaux was sophomore Trenton Fryman (16th-28:03), freshman Matthew Murray (19th-28:31), senior Steve Booker (20th-28:33) and senior Bradley Dohner (22nd-28:50).
Alex Dunbar (29:07) and Nick Terrazas (32:33) also competed in Friday's race.
UTSA (35 points) won the meet while Houston Baptist (57 points) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (74 points) finished second and third, respectively. Prairie View (112 points) and Texas Southern (141 points) placed fifth and sixth.
