Men's Cross Country Bests Texas A&M, Houston, TCU, Others To Win Home Meet
Cavallo, Sagel, Firth Post Top 15 Finishes

Rice's men's cross country team won the Rice Invitational Meet, placing ahead of rivals such as Texas A&M, Houston and TCU. John Cavallo led the Owls with a fourth place finish.
"I was real pleased today," said Rice head coach Jon Warren. "We had four up front today that finished in the Top 20. It was a good solid showing for us."
Cavallo's 16:50 time led the Owls on the 5500 m course, set up on the Rice Intramural Fields. Harry Sagel posted a 17:03 mark to finish ninth overall.
Will Firth (17:10) finished 13th and Meron Fessahaie posted a 16th place finish at 17:15.
William Roberts rounded out the scoring for the Owls, finishing 38th overall and 35th among collegians at 17:47.
Rice's men also competed in a dual meet with Houston Baptist, winning 20 to 37.
