Men's XC Finishes Second At Rice Invitational
Cavallo finishes fourth in the meet.

Rice men's cross country finished second, finishing only behind 14th-ranked Texas A&M, in the 37th Annual Justin F. Cooper Memorial Rice Invitational Meet on Friday at the Rice Intramural Fields. John Cavallo finished fourth for the Owls.
"We are very excited about how this meet went," said Rice Head Coach Jon Warren. "We hosted one of the best meets in the region, and we were able to put together a strong showing on our home turf."
Cavallo ran a 16:57 and finished fourth in the meet. Will Firth posted a top-10 finish for the Owls, running a 17:03, good for 7th place.
The Owls, ranked fifth in the South Central Region, finished ahead of sixth-ranked Texas A&M Corpus Christi, seventh-ranked McNeese State, ninth-ranked Stephen F. Austin, tenth-ranked Houston and 15th-ranked Houston Baptist.
Rice also participated in a double-dual, and fell one point short of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 28-27.
