IRVING, Texas – Junior track & field athlete Patrick McCoy was chosen as one of three league ambassadors to represent Conference USA at the 2017-18 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. on Nov. 16-19, the league office announced on Friday (Oct. 6).
McCoy currently serves as the Rice SAAC Vice-President and the C-USA SAAC Vice-Chair. McCoy has been active in the Houston community with the recent impact of Hurricane Harvey and instrumental in the clean-up and relief efforts.
In addition, McCoy has volunteered for numerous track & field camps and is an active member of the Rice Sports Management Club.
The 2017-18 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend the Leadership Forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles.
McCoy will be joining Charlotte’s Haley Pace and UTSA’s Stefanie Cisneros at the forum.
