Owls Send Three To NCAA Championships

The Rice men's track team will send three competitors to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon after competition in the 2010 West Track & Field Regional wrapped up at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin on Saturday night.

The lone Owl to compete on the final night of competition, Junior Ugo Nduaguba failed to join his teammates in Oregon, finishing 18th in the triple jump with a leap of 15.43m/50-07.50 in the triple jump on Saturday.

Pole vaulters Jason Colwick and Shea Kearney qualified for the national championships by finishing in the top 12 on Friday, and will join decathlete Philip Adam, who qualified based on his top season point total.

"These are three outstanding kids who have worked very hard. I am thrilled for each of them and excited that they have a chance to represent Rice at nationals," Rice men's coach Jon Warren said.
