Track & Field Squads Primed for C-USA Outdoor Championships

- The 2015 C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships get underway tomorrow (Thursday, May 14) and will last through Sunday, May 17 on the Larry K. Durham Track at historic Kidd Field in El Paso, Texas. The Rice Owls will be amongst 23 teams competing (10 men, 13 women) beginning with the women's heptathlon on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. (CT). 

The entire event will be live streamed on the Conference USA Digital Network and availabe for viewing. Tickets prcies will be $20 for a four day pass, $8 for an adult daily pass and $4 for a kids (12 & under) daily pass.

The Rice men's track and field squad currently holds 26 C-USA marks in the top-10 while the women boast 17 top-10 marks. As of May 11 the men were ranked 12th as a team in the USTFCCCA South Central Region while the women came in at No. 16. 

Last season the women's squad placed third at the C-USA Outdoor Championships (hosted by Rice) for their sixth, top-three finish since joining the league in 2006. The women followed that up with a third place finish at this year's C-USA Indoor Championships back in February. The men have three, top-three finishes at the C-USA Outdoor Championships and placed fourth at this year's C-USA Indoor Championships.
