Chaney Lands 17th Place Finish In NCAA Decathlon
Earns Top 20 Finish In Nation For Second Straight Year

Clayton Chaney finished 17th in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships, posting a score of 7,377. He rounds out his career with a second-straight NCAA Championship appearance.
Chaney started the day by earning 890 points in the 110 m hurdles, running a 14.67, finishing ninth among the decathletes. He threw the discus 125 feet, 3 inches for 634 points in the second event of the day.
He cleared 14 feet, 1.25 inches on the first try in the pole vault, but did not clear anything higher for a 702 point total. He was eighth among javelin throwers with a 189 foot, 3 inch, 703 point throw.
Chaney rounded out the day with a 4:53.03 in the 1500 m race, earning 601 points, bringing his total to 7,377.
