Jason Colwick set a Rice Track Stadium record in winning the pole vault event when he cleared 5.52m/18-1.25 at the Rice All Comers Meet on Thursday. This is now the fifth time during the outdoor season in which Colwick has cleared 18 feet in the pole vault.

Also in the pole vault, decathlete Clayton Chaney improved his mark by clearing 3.85m/12-7.5 and Pete Navarra cleared 3.00m/9-10.

Simon Bucknell won the 800m with a team season-best time of 1:54.05 while Jacob Owolabi was second with a season-best time as well at 1:54.05. Dan Sloat was third at 1:54.42.

In the shot put, decathlete Philip Adam improved his mark to 14.48m/47-6.25. Adam also improved his mark in the discus to 39.50m/129-7. Chaney increased his discus mark to 37.40m/122-8.

William Meyers upped his season-best in the discus to 40.41m/132-7.
