Williams Breaks Own School Record To Lead Great Showing By Men's Track

EL PASO, Texas- Nick Williams broke his own school record in the hammer throw, thrown 51.86 meters, to lead a very strong day for men's track at the UTEP Invitational.
"We had a super day today," said Rice Head Coach Jon Warren. "A great meet was had by the partial crew that made the trip to El Paso."
Ben Pressley jumped 7.40 meters in the long jump, which ranks 24th in the region and puts him in position to qualify for the first round of the NCAA Championships.
Chris Pillow won the pole vault, clearing 17-4.5 (5.30 m), adding another meet which he has cleared 17 feet.
Alex Zinchenko threw 52.59 meters in the discus, ranking as the top collegian. He threw 52.59 m in flat, windless conditions, and setting a season-high in the process.
Dylan Bradley set season-highs in the 100 m dash (10.92) and 200 m dash (22.01) to highlight his most productive day in the sprints.
