Nick Willams set the school record in the hammer throw

Nick Williams threw 50.78 m in the hammer throw, setting a school record, to highlight the Victor Lopez Classic for men's track. Williams increased his own school record for the second straight week.

"A lot of things went really well, we placed really well in a lot of events," said head coach Jon Warren. "We had very good performances and promising results."

On Friday, Travis Roberts won the collegiate portion of 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:29.20.

Harry Sagel was the top collegian in the 1500m with a time of 3:55.75

John Cavallo won the 5000m with a time of 14:37.51.

The Owls placed second and fourth in the 10,000 m, with Henry Giles finishing second with a 32:39.99, and Aneesh Sampath posting a 32:59.74 to finish fourth.

Alex Zinchenko had a solid showing on Saturday at the Lopez Classic, throwing 50.38 m in the discus to finish second, and 16.61 m in the shot put to finish 4th

Alex Weinheimer and Harry Sagel put up a solid performance in the 800 m, running 1:51.99 and 1:52.67 to score for the Owls.

The Owls finished fourth among 18 teams.
