Pressley Withdraws On Final Day Of Shirley Crowe

HOUSTON, Texas - Rice junior decathlete Ben Pressley withdrew on the final day of competition at the Shirley Crowe outdoor meet on Thursday. Pressley had climbed as high as second place in the standings (4956 points) but withdrew with three events remaining.
Freshman Scott Filip, the lone other Rice competitor in the event, was forced to withdraw on Wednesday due to illness.
Wichita State's Hunter Veith won the decathlon with 7027 points.
