Rice Men's Track and Field Competed at the Texas A&M Challenge

The Rice Owls men's track and field team competed Saturday at the Texas A&M Challenge at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas. The Challenge featuared scored meet between three conferences - Big 12, SEC and Conference USA. Teams representing the Big 12 were Texas A&M, Texas and Texas Tech. The SEC was represented by Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. Competing for Conference USA were Houston, Rice and UTEP.

Michael Trejo placed sixth in the 3000m with a time of 8:28.88. The Owls distance medley relay squad of Alex Weinheimer, Ryan Gard, Dan Sloat, and Scott Zivick placed fifth (10:27.08).

Ugo Nduaguba placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.01m/49-3. Clay Baker posted a mark of 16.76m/55-0 to placed fourth in the weight throw. In the high jump, Ikechi Nnamani placed seventh in the high jump (1.95m/6-4.75).

The Owls' Clay Baker (15.85m/52-0) and Will Meyers (15.81m/51-10.5) placed sixth and seventh, respectively in the shot put.

Rice's 4x400m relay squad of Collin Donne, Ryan Gard, Jack Spinks, and Donte Moore placed fifth with a time of 3:19.39.
