Men's Track Has Strong Indoor Performance Gearing For C-USA Champs
Chris Pillow clears 17 feet for fourth straight week

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Rice's men's track and field finished with a strong performance at the Texas A&M Invitational in its last meet before the C-USA Championship. Chris Pillow cleared 17+ feet for the fourth consecutive meet.
"Overall this was a good last indoor meet to get us ready for conference," said Rice Head Coach Jon Warren. "We are moving in the right direction heading into the C-USA Championship."
Chris Pillow cleared 5.21 meters (17-1 feet) in the pole vault, marking the fourth straight meet he has cleared 17 feet. Pillow finished second in the event, behind Texas A&M's Chase Wolfle, marking the third straight week he has finished as a Top 2 collegian in his meet.
Chris Sanders posted a personal best of 8.47 in the 60 meter hurdles, good for seventh in the prelims. Clayton Chaney and Filip Drozdowski finished 4-5 in the heat with times of 8.32 and 8.40 respectively.
Will Beasley ran a low-altitude personal best in the 200 meters of 22.58.
Kyle Denny had a season-best of 50.62 in the 400 meters.
Harry Sagel and Mike Troop had personal bests of 1:54.01 and 1:56.93 in the 800 meters.
