Colwick Sets New Pole Vault Record

Lincoln, Neb. -- Senior track and field athlete Jason Colwick set a new Rice indoor record in the pole vault while competing at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at Nebraska's Bob Devaney Sports Center. Colwick cleared 5.67m/18-7.25 to also set a meet record. This mark is also in the top 10 currently in the world.

Saturday's mark surpasses Colwick's school record of 5.62m/18-5.25 set at UH's Leonard Hilton Memorial (Jan. 18).

In other action, Ugo Nduaguba placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.13m/49-7.75. Connor Hayes placed eighth in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:14.26.

Clay Baker, competing at UH's All-Comers Meet inside Yeoman Fieldhouse, placed third in the men's weight throw (16.05m/52-8.0) and third in the shot put with a mark of 15.50m/50-10.25.
