Houston - The Rice men's track and field squad has three athletes in the top five of the heptathlon after the first of two days of competition at the Houston Indoor Invitational.
Clayton Chaney is the top collegian and second overall in the heptathlon with 2,962 points. Ben Pressley follows in fourth with 2,737 points, while Jack Spinks is fifth with 2,627 points. In Friday's long jump competition, Chris Sanders placed seventh with a mark of 6.43m/21-1.25.
