Wimbledon Boys' Singles Draw
Incoming freshman tennis player Jamie Malik, who will report to Rice later this month, has earned a wildcard slot in the Boys Tennis Championship at the All England Club in Wimbledon, England.
Malik, 17, will face Noah Rubin of the USA in an opening round match on Monday. He is currently ranked 185th in the ITF Junior rankings and has posted a 16-3 record in singles in ITF events this year. In his last outing, he reached the round of 32 at the Roehampton Nike Junior tournament, defeating a pair of juniors ranked in the top 100 in the process.
This marks the second consecutive year that Malik will compete at Wimbledon. He earned wild card entries into both the boy's singles and doubles last year.
