Oscar Janglin and Eric Rutledge fell in the their round of 32 singles matches, but advanced to the semifinals of the consolation doubles at the 2017 ITA Texas Regional Championships at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station on Saturday.
Janglin fell to second seed Jordi Arconada of Texas A&M, 6-4, 6-4 while Rutledge fell to Baylor’s Constantin Frantzen by the same score.
The two opened play on Saturday by outlasting Texas Tech’s Justin Bloss and Arten Kapshuk in a tiebreaker, winning 8-7 (4).
They will face ACU’s Joshua and Jonathan Sheehy at 9 a.m. on Sunday looking for a berth in the consolation final.
