The Rice men's tennis team opened the final weekend of dual action by dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 56 TCU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth on Saturday.

The Owls were once again without sophomore Tommy Bennett at the top of the lineup due to injury and the Horned Frogs took immediate advantage by grabbing the doubles point and then clinching the match with straight-set singles wins at 4, 5 and 6. 1

At the top of the lineup, Srikar Alla and Adam Gustafsson both took their matches to set-deciding tiebreaks after splitting the first two sets while Max Andrews' attempt to add a third match to that scenario fell short after he lost a second-set tiebreaker.

The Owls will wrap up their 2014 dual schedule on Sunday when they face SMU in Dallas at 11:30 a.m. The match time has been moved up due to threatening weather conditions in Dallas on Sunday.
