Srikar Alla and Adam Gustafsson won for the second consecutive day, while five other Owls picked up wins in singles as the Rice men' tennis team rebounded by winning nine of 13 overall matches vs. Indiana on Day Two of the UCF Quad Invitational in Orlando Florida on Friday.

No team scores are kept during the competition and all matches are following the ITA's new scoring rules for the early portion of the college dual season. The sets are No Ad and receiver's choice on the deuce points. Tiebreakers are played at 5-5 in each set.

Alla won in straight sets for the second straight day, downing Indiana's Sven Lalic 6-3,6-4. Gustafsson rebounded from a second set tiebreak loss to top IU's Dima Tasic, 6-1, 5-6(5), 6-1. Sophomore Tommy Bennett breezed to a 6-4,6-1 win over the Hoosiers Elliott Yee.

Freshmen Max Andrews and David Warren had to survive first set tiebreaks before winning in straight sets.

Newest Owl Henrik Munch and junior Leif Berger both shook off first set losses to pick up wins. Munch picked up his first win as a collegian, downing Kellen Bates 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 while Berger rebounded to beat Alek Davila, -6,6-3,6-1.

The Owls will be back on action on Saturday when they face The Citadel.
