HOUSTON, Texas - Rice University head men's golf coach Justin Emil announced the team's 2014-15 tournament schedule on Monday. The Owls play in 11 events leading to the defense of their Conference USA title, including six in Texas.

From there, the squad heads west to the Ram Masters Invitational at Fort Collins Country Club in Colorado on Sept. 15-16. At last year's event, Rice claimed a sixth-place finish.
As the calendar rolls to October, the Owls head to the David Toms Intercollegiate at LSU's University Club. The event spans two days, Oct. 4-5, in Baton Rouge, La. Rice competed at the event last season as well, placing 11th.
The Owls cohost the Miramont Invitational with Sam Houston State at the Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas on Oct. 13-14.
Rice closes out the fall at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate in Vero Beach, Fla. The event takes place on Oct. 27-28.
The spring slate opens on Feb. 9-10, 2015 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio.
From there, Rice cohosts the Bayou City Collegiate Championship for a third-straight season with the University of Houston. The Owls posted a solid sixth-place finish at last year's event against a strong national field at the Golf Club of Houston. This season's event is slated for Feb. 20-22 at the site of the PGA Tour's Shell Houston Open.
Over spring break on March 1-3, the Owls leave the country for the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate in Mexico. The event takes place at the Querencia Golf Resort in Cabo.
Following that international event, the Owls return to Texas for three-straight events, beginning with the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club on March 13-14. In its last trip to Laredo in 2013, the team claimed 11th place.
The Owls then return to San Antonio for the Lone Star Invitational on March 23-24. Rice claimed seventh place at last year's event at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
In the final tune-up for the C-USA Championship, Rice heads to Austin for the Jim West Intercollegiate at Wolfdancer Golf Club on April 6-7.
The Conference USA tournament is slated for April 26-29, at a location to be announced. The Owls will contend with a new format as they seek a repeat league title in 2015. Following 54 holes of stroke play, the top four teams will advance to a match play seeded playoff, mirroring the NCAA Championship format, to determine the champion.
NCAA Regionals will take place at campus sites on May 14-16 with USF hosting the NCAA Championships at Concession Golf club in Bradenton, Fla. on May 29-June 3.
Rice returns 9-of-10 players from the 2014 championship team, including C-USA Freshman of the Year and all-conference performer Kevin Reilly and Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Tommy Economou. The squad lost second-leading scorer Landon Michelson to graduation.
