Carmona Tied for Fifth at Latin America Amateur

Santiago, Chile — Rice senior Mario Carmona is one-under par and tied for fifth-place after 36 holes of the Latin America Amateur Championship, played at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile.

Carmona shota one-over par 72 to give him a 36-hole score of 142. He is one of just nine players under par.

The Houston native is just four shots off the lead, which is held by Georgia graduate Jaime Lopez Rivarola at five-under par.

The third round begins tomorrow with Carmona teeing off at 6:06 a.m. CT.
