Mobile, Ala. — Rice closed its fall season with a fifth-place finish at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, played at the par-72, 7,096-yard Steelwood Country Club.
The Owls shot a final round 302 to finish 23-over par. No. 1 Alabama won the tournament championship at two-over par, one stroke in front of #58 Kennesaw State.
“That was a hard golf course today,” said head coach Justin Emil. “We missed an opportunity to beat some top ranked teams coming down the stretch, but we showed some great potential at this tournament and it’s definitely something to build on as we head into the offseason.”

Carmona has two top ten finishes this year and nine in his career while Meissner recorded his first top ten finish of the year and fourth of his career.
