Humble, Texas — Rice shot a final round 293 to finish one-over par in sixth-place at the spring-opening All-American Intercollegiate, played at the Golf Club of Houston.

“We hoped to have beat a few more teams this week, but overall it was a pretty good tournament,” said head coach Justin Emil. “They grinded well in some tough conditions and gave themselves an opportunity to beat some very good teams. All in all, it’s something for us to build on.”

Junior Mario Carmona shot a final round 71 to tie for seventh-place at four-under par. It is his third top ten finish of the year and fifth of his career. The 71 was also his team-leading ninth round of par or better this year and the 22nd of his career.

Junior Mitchell Meissner closed with a 76 to finish one-under par to tie for 19th-place. It is his third top 20 finish of the year and the sixth of his career.

Freshman Trevor Brown posted a 73 to tie for 32nd-place at one-over par. Freshman Nick Duggan tied for 61st-place after posting a 74 to finish seven-over par.
