Mario Carmona in Top Ten Heading into Final Round of All-American

HUMBLE, Texas — Senior Mario Carmona is five-under par in a tie for ninth-place heading into the final round of the All-American Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 7,096-yard Golf Club of Houston.

Carmona fired his second straight round under par, carding a one-under 71. It is his 10th round of par or better this year and the 39th of his career. Carmona posted one birdie and 17 pars in his round.

The Houston native is five strokes off the lead, held by Auburn’s Jovan Rebula. His 36-hole score of 139 tied a career-low.

Senior Mitchell Meissner carded an even-par 71 to sit in a tie for 35th-place at one-under par. It is his fifth round of par or better this year and the 26th of his career. He also tied a season-low with a 36-hole score of 143.

Junior Mason Weld and sophomore Nicholas Duggan are tied for 69th-place at six-over par. Weld set a season-best with a 74 while Duggan posted a 72. It was his third round of par or better this year and the 10th of his career.

Junior Grant Rogers carded a 76 to sit seven-over par in a 75th-place tie while freshman Rishi Kejriwal is tied for 90th-place at 11-over par after posting a 75.

No. 10 Auburn leads the tournament at 31-under par, 13 strokes in front of No. 3 Baylor. Rice is in 11th-place at three-over par after posting a one-over par 289.

The final round begins tomorrow with Rice teeing off at 8:08 a.m. from Hole #10. The Owls are paired with Sam Houston State and UTSA.
